"For to be wise is only one thing - to fix our attention on our intelligence, which guides all things everywhere." ~ Heraclitus, quoted in Diogenes Laertius, Lives Of The Eminent Philosophers, 9.1

4·15·'25 PAY YOUR TAXES "Nothing will ever befall me that I will receive w/gloom or a bad disposition. I will pay my taxes gladly. Now, all the things which cause complaint or dread are like the taxes of life - things from which, my dear Lucilius, you should never hope for exemption or seek escape." ~ Seneca, Moral Letters, 96.2

There are many forms of taxes in life: 1.\ Income taxes-just the financial form 2.\ Waiting around-travel tax 3.\ Rumors & Gossip-public persona tax 4.\ Disagreements & Occasional Frustrations- relationship taxes 5.\ Theft- tax on abundance/having what others want/need 6.\ Stress, etc- tariffs on success And the beat goes on... You can argue w/them, or go to lengths to evade 'em... or you can simply pay up & make do w/whatever is left over.
